Houghton
10-13th August 2023

It feels like I have been waiting for a while to go to this festival - ever since it first launched in 2017 it's been on my radar. At this point its been cancelled almost as many times as its gone ahead, with terrible weather and of course covid standing in its way between 2019 and 2021.

2023 was the 4th edition of Houghton and it did not disappoint! The festival is run by Fabric resident Craig Richards and the intimate nature of it means its exactly the kind of festival where you might bump into Craig roaming between the 14 (fourteen!) stages - most of which Craig actually plays at over the course of the weekend.

I saw some amazing sets from the likes of Optimo, Midland, Jon Talabot, DJ Stingray, Pearson Sound, and Peach to name just a few. There is no main stage here - every stage is unique and great for different reasons - shoutout to Giant Steps for the home-away-from-home vibes!

Terminus is the stage where music plays for 24 hours from Friday-Monday, just one of things that makes this festival so unique and above all else in the UK at the moment. Unfortunately I didnt manage to make it to Terminus because of the long queues...guess I will have to come back another year!
