Otherlands
19th-21st August 2022
I turned 26 at the first ever Otherlands Festival at Scone Palace in Perth, run by the same FLY crew who we have come to know and love for their Open Air festivals and parties. The festival has 4 stages and its small capacity gave it that intimate community feel - or perhaps it was the fact half of the Glasgow electronic music scene had descended here for the weekend!
Regardless I thought this was a great first attempt, and despite some issues with sound and angry locals, which meant that the schedule was adjusted slightly on the Saturday, the vibes all round were very nice here and I really hope Otherlands makes a return in the future.
The local representation was really excellent, and I saw great sets from the likes of Taahliah, Joesef and rising band VLURE, in addition to my good friend DJ Suzie who made yet another festival appearance.
The headliners were solid - with Jamie XX taking to the mainstage on Saturday, while Bicep closed out the festival on Sunday with an excellent live set - which I've seen multiple times now and it just doesn't disappoint.
Sherelle was great fun on a warm Sunday afternoon after a big birthday Saturday.
